What We Believe

We believe that God has not left us without guidance in this world. At St. Martin’s, we meet together expectant that God speaks as the Bible is read and preached. In it, we find wisdom and comfort for life as well as a challenge to be the people God wants us to be.

We all need to be cared for and to care for others. Church is a place to work out these needs. We seek to care for each other across all barriers like age, race and cultural backgrounds. We also try to make a difference in the community around us. Like all relationships, church is not always easy- but it is worth it!

As an Anglican church we belong to an historical tradition which, at its best, seeks to base its belief and life on God’s word, the Bible. We do this with an awareness of the theological legacy contained in the Book of Common Prayer and the 39 Articles.

Grace

We as a church are on about God's grace. Because we’re on about God's grace, that means we are also on about Jesus, who is the form of God's grace.

Jesus

He came into our world to live and die, and come back to life for us. In response we want to trust Jesus, follow him and become more like him. And because we’re on about Jesus, that means we are on about the Bible.

Bible

A good deal of our time in church or in other groups we run has us opening the Bible. In it we learn what God is like, we learn what we are like and we learn what God has done for us through his Son Jesus.
